Here Comes MAP!

I've been asked why I came up with May Awareness Project, and the answer is easy. I have an affliction or two--as most of us will at some point in our lives--and I decided to turn a negative into a positive. I have Fibromyalgia. I've probably had it my whole life, as widespread pain, stomach issues, and anxiety have followed me as far back as I can recall. I also have Costochondritis, which considering my family history, is a bad thing. More about that Saturday.

I became active after my Fibro diagnosis and ran a blog and Fibro Awareness tea parties and the like every May. After a while, though, I felt as if I were doing everything in life with a singular focus--me. There are so many other things that need equal amounts of attention, and if I could bring awareness to one, maybe I could bring awareness to many.

Thus, with the help of many generous authors and readers and really nice people!...here we are. Project Awareness!
